Knit Fix: Problem Solving for Knitters
by Lisa Kartus

Reviewed By Marie Stroughter

Reading this book is like taking a class.  In fact, it was “déjà vu all over again” when I read it, because I had just taught a class on fixing mistakes a few weekends before reading the book, and she had many of my tips virtually verbatim!

This 111-page book lays flat for ease of use and covers the gamut from basic mistakes like dropped or twisted stitches, to bigger issues like uncrossed or mis-crossed cables and colorwork mistakes.

There are seven chapters:

Ø      Your Knitting Philosophy

Ø      Knitting Foundations

Ø      Fixes You’ll Use Again and Again

Ø      Troubleshooting

Ø      Solving Problems Before They Grow

Ø      Extreme Fixes: Altering When You’re Done Knitting

Ø      Test-Driving

The book also includes a section on the basics of knitting as well as a guide to common errors.

The book offers excellent drawings and photos of actual knitted swatches.  The text walks you through each fix along with what I call “roadmaps” to help you identify what you need to do and where you should do it!

A must for every knitter’s library; you’ll find that you turn to it time and time again.  This book is a great help for both novices and experts alike.
