Note:
Knitting Ms. Daisy also requires some crocheting skills.  I’ve included a tutorial if you need help.

Materials:
Worsted Weight Yarn
2 Skeins of Lamb’s Pride Worsted
1 skein in “Pink” and 1 in “Orchid Thistle”
2 Bamboo Handles (JoAnn’s)
Size US8 Knitting Needles
Size H Crochet Hook
2 stitch Holders
1 Flower Shaped Metal Ring (Michael’s), 5” diameter
Tapestry Needle
Fabric (I used a deep purple Microsuede  fabric from JoAnn’s)
1 Sheet of Plastic Canvas
Needle and Thread
Stitch Markers

Gauge:
4˝ stitches and 6˝ rows per inch over stockinette stitch.

Purse Dimensions:
Approximately 10”wide by 11” tall

Instructions:
Cast on 45 stitches with “Orchid Thistle”.

Knit in stockinette stitch (st st) for 3 inches, ending with a right side (rs) row.

(wrong side (ws)): Slip 11 stitches onto stitch holder. Cut yarn.

Joining yarn to 12th stitch, bind off 23 stitches in purl.

Purl final 10 stitches.

Continue knitting these 11 stitches in st st until 5” from bound off edge, ending with a ws row.  Slip all 11 stitches onto stitch holder and cut yarn.

Slip stitches from 1st stitch holder onto needles (ws should be facing you).

Join yarn and purl row.

Continue in st st until 5” from bound off edge, ending with a wrong side row.

Cast on 23 stitches w/ thumb cast on (see tutorial if help is needed).

Purl 11 stitches from stitch holder.

Knit the 45 stitches in stockinette stitch for an additional 3”.

Place marker at the end of the row to mark the bottom of the front of the purse.

Continue knitting in st st for an additional 11”.

Bind off.

Fold fabric in half and sew the side seams.

Single crochet evenly around the square opening, with wrong side of purse facing.
