Begin the sides and the motif: Round 25: Rounds 25 through 66 correspond to the motif on the side of the hat/basket (read from right to left and bottom to top). Remember, that to do a tapestry crochet stitch, colors are switched while 2 loops are still on the hook; yarn over with the other thread and pull it through the loops to prepare for the tapestry crochet stitch. Start the motif as follows: tapestry crochet 1 beaded blue, then 13 beaded burgundy stitches. Repeat this sequence around. Round 26: Tapestry crochet 2 beaded blue, then 12 beaded burgundy stitches. Repeat this sequence around. Every once in a while, untwist the threads by suspending the basket in the air with one of the threads while pulling on the other thread. Let the piece spin around in the air so that the threads untangle. Round 27: Tapestry crochet 3 beaded blue, then 11 beaded burgundy stitches. Repeat this sequence around. Round 28: Tapestry crochet 4 beaded blue, then 10 beaded burgundy stitches. Repeat this sequence around. Round 29: Tapestry crochet 5 beaded blue, then 9 beaded burgundy stitches. Round 31: Tapestry crochet 7 beaded blue, then 7 beaded burgundy stitches. Repeat this sequence around. Round 32: Tapestry crochet 8 beaded blue, then 6 beaded burgundy stitches. Repeat this sequence around. Round 33: Tapestry crochet 9 beaded blue, then 5 beaded burgundy stitches. Repeat this sequence around. Round 34: Tapestry crochet 10 beaded blue, then 4 beaded burgundy stitches. Repeat this sequence around. Round 35: Tapestry crochet 11 beaded blue, then 3 beaded burgundy stitches. Repeat this sequence around. Round 36: Tapestry crochet 12 beaded blue, then 2 beaded burgundy stitches. Repeat this sequence around. Round 37: Tapestry crochet 13 beaded blue, then 1 beaded burgundy stitch. Repeat this sequence around. Round 38: Load three boxes of rainbow root beer beads onto the berry pie thread with a beading needle. Push the beads down, leaving a yard-long piece without beads on the thread. Tapestry crochet 14 beaded blue, cut the carried burgundy and begin to carry the beaded berry pie thread. Continue to crochet around with beaded blue stitches. Round 39: Tapestry crochet 6 beaded blue, 1 beaded berry, then 7 beaded blue stitches. Repeat this sequence around.
