Front Next RS row: P all Next WS row: K all Follow Chart A for textured chain insertion. (Refer to Chart A on previous page.) Next RS row: K all.
Cable and Texture Section:
Rows 4 & 6 (RS): Knit 3 (6, 9) st, P1, K1, P1, K4, P1, K2, P1, K4, P1, K1. Work row 4 or 6 from Chart B.. K1, P1, K4, P1, K2, P1, K4, P1, K1, P1. Knit 3 (6, 9) sts. Row 8 (RS): K 3 (6, 9) st. P1, K1, P1. Sl next 2 st to DPN and hold in front. K2, then K2 from DPN. P1, K2, P1. Sl next st to DPN and hold in front. K1, then K1 from DPN. Sl next st and hold in back. K1, then K1 from DPN. Work row 8 from Chart B.. K1, P1. Sl next st to DPN and hold in front. K1, then K1 from DPN. Sl next st to DPN and hold in back. K1, then K1 from DPN. P1, K2, P1. Sl next 2 sts to DPN and hold in front. K2, then K2 from DPN. P1, K2, P1. Knit last 3 (6, 9) sts.
Work 4 rows following cable, keeping center 38 sts as P st on the RS and K st on the WS. For the next few rows, continue to follow cable pattern, and work center 38 sts as follows: Next RS row: K4, P28, K4 Next WS Row: P7, K24, P7 Next RS Row: K10, P 18, K10 Next WS Row: P13, K12, P13 Next RS Row: K16, P 6, K16 Next WS Row: P all 38 center sts Next RS Row: K all 38 center sts
At the beginning of the next WS row, BO 3 sts and continue to work in patterns to the end of the row. Continue in established patterns until piece measures 12” (13”, 14”) from bottom edge.
Continue to work in pattern on WS, but work sts 2X at neck edge. Attach a 2nd ball of yarn at opposite neck edge, work 2 sts tog 2X, then continue row. Continue in this manner, working 2 sts tog 2X at each side of neck edge on each row until you have 22 (24, 28) sts on each side, and front measures 14” (15”, 16”) from bottom edge. BO shoulders on each side.
Weave in all ends.
