Note:
I didn't get too crazy about keeping the ruffle from curling, because I like that lettuce-edge look. If you want more curl, you can skip the seed stitch at the bottom edge of the ruffle. For less, you can do more rows of seed stitch. But it will add more weight to your garment, so it's a bit of a trade off.

Specs:
Length:  16” (without ruffle);  18” (with ruffle)
Chest - One size Medium (36”)

Gauge:
4.5 sts. and 6 rows with #8 US needles

Materials:
Berroco Cotton Twist (450 yds.)
#8 U.S./5mm circular needle (24”)
Tapestry Needle (to weave in ends)


Abbreviations:
BO:  Bind Off
CO:  Cast Off
WS:  Wrong Side
K:     Knit
K2TOG: Knit 2 stitches Together
P:    Purl
S:    Stitch
SSK:  Slip Slip Knit (Slip first two stitches on left hand needle to right hand needle knitwise; insert tip of left needle through the fronts of both stitches from the left, and knit these two stitches together.)
X: Times (As in number of times)
YO:  Yarn Over

Eyelet Pattern (for body of tank):
Row 1 (WS and all WS rows):  Purl
Row 2:    Knit
Row 4:    K3, *YO, SSK, K6*; Repeat inside of *  *; end last repeat K3 instead of K6
Row 6:    K1, *K2TOG, YO, K1, YO, SSK, K3*; Repeat inside of *  *; end last repeat K2 instead of K3
Row 8:    Repeat Row 4
Row 10:   Knit
Row 12:   K7, repeat inside of *  * of Row 4, end K1
Row 14:   K5, repeat inside of *  * of Row 6, end K3
Row 16:   Repeat Row 12

Instructions:
Back
Co 72 sts. Work 4 rows of seed stitch. (Note: For a demonstration of the seed stitch, visit Knitting Help.)

Next row (WS) change to eyelet pattern, but always keep first 4 sts. and last 4 sts. of every row in seed stitch. Work 9” in eyelet pattern.

Armhole Shaping:
Next RS row: (K2tog) 3X at the beg of the next row. Work all body sts. in seed st. (K2tog) 3X.

Work 2Tog at beginning and end of next few rows, (working body in seed stitch,) until you have 52 sts.

Work even until piece measures 15”.

Neck Shaping:
Work 10 sts. in seed st. BO 32 sts. at center for neck. Work last 10 sts. in seed st.

Next row: Join 2nd ball of yarn on opposite neck edge and work both sides even until piece measures 16”. BO.

Front
Work as for back (through armhole shaping) until piece measures 10” (52 Sts.)

Neck Shaping:
Next row: Work 10 sts. in seed st. BO center 32 sts. for neck. Work remaining 10 sts. in seed st.

Next Row: Join 2nd ball of yarn at opposite neck edge, and work both sides even until piece measures 16". BO.

Seam front and back together at shoulders and side seams

Ruffle
Pick up 70 sts. around bottom edge of tank.

Next Row: Knit 2X into each st. (140 sts.)

Work even in stockinette stitch (K all stitches on circs.) until ruffle measures 1- 3/4”.

Next Row: Work in Seed St.

Next Row: BO loosely in Seed St.

Wash and block garment.
