Ribbon Halter: "Santo Domingo"
Design by Gina Griffin

I started off wanting a halter that I wasn't ashamed to be seen in. This one turned out to be a tiny, sexy little halter, and I love it. But I might have to save it for vacation, only!

Level of Difficulty
Easy

Gauge
4 Stitches X 5 Rows = 1 inch on #9 US needles

Materials
US size #9 (5.5mm) needles
145 yds. Of Crystal Palace Party (ribbon)
Tapestry Needle

Chest Sizes: 32” (34”, 36”)

Instructions
Using #9 US needle, CO 104 (112, 120) sts. Work in seed st. for 1”. Switch to St. St., keeping first and last 4 st. in seed st. AT THE SAME TIME, increase 1 st. at the beg. And end of each row until you have 126 (134, 142) st. Continue as established until piece measures 3” from bottom edge.

Next RS Row: BO 22 st. in seed st. Work 12 st. in seed st. K66. Work rem 22 st. in St. st. Next WS Row: BO 22 st. in seed st. Continue as established to end of row.

Next WS Row: K2 tog 2X at beg and end of row, keeping st. as established.

Repeat this row until you have 6 seed st. on each side.

Finishing:
Cut 6 lengths of ribbon, each 25”. Separate into two groups of three strands, for braiding. Knot three strands at one end, leaving a 2” tail. Braid strip until about 4” are left free. Knot strands together. Repeat with remaining 3 strands. Tie one strand into each corner of front, leaving the 2” tail showing.

Weave in any stray ends.
